The Grawemeyer Award in Music Composition is one of the world's most important honors in new music; therefore, the archived collection of entries housed at the University of Louisville's Dwight Anderson Music Library must be made available to all. Not only are the winners of great consequence to recent music history but the totality of the entered compositions and their composers, as they represent every major region in the world, demonstrate the development of contemporary art music.
