This book looks at the ways in which antisemitism in postwar Austria influenced the construction of the Second Republic. During this period, the antisemitism of the political elite revealed itself in the will-formation around denazification, reluctant restitution for Jews, and the failure to invite Jewish people to return to their former homeland. The author clearly explains the political process, based on documentation from the Nationalrat, and shows that the political elite did not see the Jewish people as an equal part of society.
