Fourteen-year-old Agathon lives in ancient Greece. One day, he and his friend fall asleep in an old boat. The boat moves out to sea. Pirates on a ship help the boys. But they are bad and sell them in the slave market in Pompeii. Agathon becomes a slave and he teaches his master's son, Octavio. But Agathon misses his family in Greece. Then, the volcano Vesuvius erupts and Pompeii is in chaos. Can Agathon escape, or should he stay and help Octavio?
