Weaves together three stories which at first are seemingly unrelated: that of a young man and his surfing friends who get into a car accident; a middle-aged woman who needs a heart transplant; and two teams of doctors and medical experts engaged in the day-to-day struggle to save lives. What connects these stories is the literal, emotional, and philosophical aspects of compassion and the human heart.
