Novel based on the life of Puerto Rican poet, Julia de Burgos, regarded as the most important female Puerto Rican poet of the 20th century. It is also an account of the political times in which she lived. Burgos was a militant independence supporter, antimilitarist and opponent of the Trujillo dictatorship.
