Dispute resolution
Scholars of law explore a range of what used to be called alternative dispute resolution, and is now often just referred to dispute resolution, convinced that process pluralism, a variety of different processes, will enable lawyers of the future to be more creative and effective in their legal problem solving. They begin with a theoretical and historical introduction to the field of dispute and conflict resolution. They then explain the three foundational processes: negotiation, mediation as facilitated negotiation, and arbitration as party-controlled adjudication. Finally, they look at adaptations and variations of the basic processes. The disk contains relevant laws, conventions, and standards. Annotation : 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com).
