"Redeeming the Dead tells the story of Winchester Young, a Mormon PI, and his Seminole Indian sidekick. It is full of rare insights into Mormon theology as well as telling insider details into the private investigative business. The investigation begins when Winchester's client approaches him to find her sister who disappeared twenty-five years earlier in St. Augustine, Florida. The client received a mysterious fax requesting she pay $50,000 cash and Charon, the sender of the fax, will take her to her missing sister. But it has to be done within seven days or the sister "will be gone forever." Winchester risks jail time, fights though a midnight tropical storm, is buried alive, and explores 10,000-year-old ancient Timucuan ruins to expose the genesis behind multiple murders.
