Cynthia Schira
Schira explored historical textiles, whether woven on eighteenth-century draw-looms or looms controlled by the Jacquard attachment developed in the nineteenth century, while she herself worked on the computerized hand looms and industrially operated Jacquard looms of today. No matter what process Schira uses to create her expanding repertoire, she combines precision and meticulous detail with a superb sense of color and texture.
