Het RoXY Archief
Club RoXY is the Netherlands' most legendary dance floor. Founded as a culture salon in 1987, the club became the place where revolutionary house music first gained a foothold in 1988 through the pioneering work of Eddy De Clercq. The RoXY thus laid the foundation for the international success of Dutch dance. But the RoXY was more than that. It was the place where influential DJs like KC The Funkaholic, Dimitri and Johnson thrived. In the wake of co-founder Peter Giele, it became a playground for artists and performers. But above all, the club was a safe haven for visitors from the LGBTQ+ scene. All contributed to the endless, wild party nights, full of creativity and self-expression. Cleo Campert recorded it all, until the last day in 1999, when disaster struck and the club burned down completely. The archive remained closed for a long time, hundreds of photos are shown in this book...
