Michèle Pagel
The sculptress Michèle Pagel directs her attention to our living environments and puts her finger on the slowly bleeding wound of its matter-of-fact routines, the ordinariness of abuse, neglect, imposition and enforcement. With seemingly simple artifices she lets the traces of opression emerge symbolically in her sculptures, in order to turn the tables, leaving the observer to the absurdity of the factual. The Book ist handbound by the artist with a screen printed cover and a risography inlay. It overlooks the past four years of Pagels work and embeds it in photo-researches, sketches and texts by experts of the matter.
