His latest series captures the beauty and the magic of Claude Monet's famous garden in Giverny. Interestingly enough, Esser portrays the plants and ponds in mostly black-and-white pictures taken at night or at dawn, oscillating between reality and illusion, the past and the present. Exhibition: Landesmuseum Bonn, Germany / Landesmuseum Oldenburg (7.7.-30.9.2012).
