In his brief and fruitful career as a photojournalist, Luciano Carneiro (1926-1959) documented historical events that marked the 1950s, such as the Korean War and the Cuban Revolution. He also produced great reports on aspects of the Brazilian reality, from land conflicts to student acts. Born in Fortaleza in 1926, Luciano Carneiro had a fast and comprehensive trajectory. At the age of 16, he started his career at Correio do Ceará. In 1948, he joined the magazine O Cruzeiro, in Rio de Janeiro, where he established himself as a photojournalist. In addition to producing the images, he often signed the texts of the stories. Over 11 years of activity in the magazine, he covered Brazilian and international themes, traveling from Japan to the Soviet Union, from Egypt from Nasser to Yugoslavia from Titus.
