A marquise, o MAM e nós no meio
The exhibition The Marquise, the MAM and us in the middleʺ was inspired by the metaphor of the museum's connection with its surroundings. Housed since 1969 in a pavilion under Oscar Niemeyer's idealized sunroom for Ibirapuera Park, the museum is part of one of the city's most vigorous and spontaneous spaces for cultural, sporting and political events. In addition to the MAM collection, neighborhood relations, territories, and agents living in and around MAM are an integral part of the museum's collection. According to curator Ana Maria Maia This environment was the starting point for my reflection on what MAM is today - identity, collection and history, as the museum turns 70. There will be six special editions linked to the exhibition.
