The Great War tore apart the Catholic Church, which in both camps used the same biblical references and theological arguments to justify the conflict. In the dioceses occupied, the face to face of military and civilians, laity and priests enemies has maintained representations of the other prohibiting any real dialogue. The clergy have been confronted with unprecedented moral and religious situations. In the ordeal, he made original commitments, crossing charity and resistance.
