The cohabitation between different subjects by faith and by ethnicity and therefore by language, customs, habits and lifestyles is one of the central challenges with which global contemporary society is called to confront. The influx today in the territory of the European Union of persons who bear individual experiences, even radically different, and the incidence of such subjective vicissitudes on broad and stratified memories diffused within each socio-cultural group oblige to question the weight and influence that these different backgrounds play in the integration process. This end seems to be an indispensable need to reflect on the historical dynamics of discrimination and prejudice formation against otherness and on the translation of prejudices, fears, and stereotypes into enormous juridical institutions capable of excluding individuals and groups from society. --Translated...
