Black & Blue
Doll Parts is issue four of Black & Blue zine, with a focus on dolls, especially how they can be creepy or bizarre. It contains reader contributions as well as the artist's writings, including childhood stories about dolls, a series of photographs of "found" abandoned dolls, crafted dolls, and an interview with Shaye St. John, a filmmaker and artist who produced surreal videos using dolls. Other elements are photographs of altered/destroyed dolls, a how-to on making paper dolls, an article on the legal practices of Mattel, a pattern for making a cloth doll, and instructions on how to make your own "bondage Barbie."
