Carmen y la libertad
The controversial director Stephan Lupasko arrives in Seville to stage a special production of Bizet's Carmen which is a "more emblematic representation of the city". Production is complicated when Lupasko, in the final stages of AIDS, must be committed to a Swiss hospital. Production continues via videoconferencing, using electronic scale models and virtual images. Uses the Carmen story to reflect upon the universal themes of freedom and enslavement, and also upon the situation of the woman in Andalusia.
