The handsome Humes
A love story centering primarily on Sidney Hume, an Oxford man. He upsets his family soemwhat by marrying a girl whose father was a former prize fighter (pugilist) known as "Honest" Jim Summers. Jim is painted as an outstanding citizen and honorable man who uses his skills primarily in defense of his daughter. He even sets out for Australia, believing his daughter's happiness is best served if he is out of the way.
