"Through comparative analysis of the experiences of Canadian Unitarian Universalists attempting to live more ecologically responsible lives, this thesis examines the role of religious and ethical perspectives in the transformation of ecological beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours. Four guiding questions shape this comparative analysis: (a) How do Canadian Unitarian Universalists (UUs) understand their interdependence within the systems of the natural world? (b) To what extent, if any, have UU religious and ethical commitments shaped these understandings? (c) What role, if any, do religious and ethical commitments have in influencing Canadian UUs to change their ecological attitudes and behaviours?
