The collection of articles is devoted to the memory of a famous Russian researchers of the indigenous ethnic group of the Far East Yury Aleksandrovich and Lidiya Ivanovna Sem whose anniversary is celebrated in 2016. Formation of modern ethnographic and linƠguistic researches in the Far East is connected with their names. For many years Yu. A. Sem directed Sector of Ethnography of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East FEB RAS, Lidyia Ivanovna - Sector of Linguistic researches and Folklore. The collection is prepared by pupils and colleagues of the anniversary heroes and covers a wide range of problems studying shamanism and ceremonial practice of the peoƠples of Siberia and the Far East, features of their patrimonial organization, ethnic cultural interaction and linguistic processes.
