Codex of Gerona
Manuscript was produced in the scriptorium of San Salvador de Tábara, and is noted for the large number of illustrations, and the complex iconographi program. It begins with a Cross and a Maiestas, followed by a vision of heaven, continuing with 6 miniatures of the Evangelists. It also features genealogies which extend throughout a unique cycle of the life and death of Christ. Although the codex contains Muslim elements, it also features many elements of the Carolingian style.
