This study was designed to permit extensive comparisons of political attitudes, beliefs, and behavior within and among states and regions, and across the United States as a whole. Particular attention was given to analysis of the 1968 presidential, gubernatorial, and United States senatorial elections. Data on approximately 500 politically-relevant variables were collected from a sample of Americans.
