Nighthawk is the third in Milton's series of raucous, risque adventures. The ruggedly handsome hero Lance Shilo is a seasoned Texas Ranger, posted to the Big Bend country along the Mexican border to investigate several killing perpetrated by the mysterious masked vigilante Nighthawk. In his spare time Shilo tries his hand at getting to the heart of ongoing disappearances within the local male population, which may have something to do with a secret gold mine of volcanic proportion, and learning the identity of a crazed wildman running around the badlands in a loincloth, allegedly strangling young livestock. Shilo is powerfully drawn to a young Spanish woman, confined to a wheelchair since a fatal attack on her fiance, whose remarkable beauty rivets every man and woman who lays eyes upon the Spanish Angel.
